Our Roasting, Flavor and Coffee Profile
KANYONYI COFFEE is single origin, medium roasted 100% premium Arabica coffee from south western, Uganda. It scored 92 cupping points and was ranked #29 in Coffee Review’s Top 30 Coffees of 2018. Our coffee is wet processed and selectively hand-picked. Each cup has a unique aroma with hints of caramel, butter and almond.
Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, a renowned wildlife veterinarian, conservationist, author and National Geographic Explorer, built Gorilla Conservation Coffee into the awarding-winning ctph.org social enterprise that she founded in 2015. Our 1st coffee brand is named after Kanyonyi (RIP), the former lead silverback of Mubare gorilla family who live in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda.
Our hopes are that #KanyonyiCoffee brand, will continue to build upon these conservation efforts by helping smallholder farmers who live next door to the world's endangered mountain gorillas, gain access to international markets and earn sustainable livelihoods. #OneHealth #SavingGorillasOneSipAtAtime #WalkingWithGorillas
